Ingredients
3 apples – peeled, cored and sliced
¼ cup of water
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
3 teaspoons of pure maple syrup
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions
Start by pouring the water into a large skillet. Arrange the apple slices in the skillet and add the brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir everything together to make sure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Bring the skillet to a simmer and then reduce the heat to low. Allow the ingredients to simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes. Throughout this time, make sure to stir the mixture every now and then, so the apples get an even coating of spices and sweetness.
Once the apples have reached the desired tenderness, you’re ready to serve!
