Easy potato bacon galette: simple recipe


1 kg potatoes

1 egg

2 large onions

200g smoked bacon, chopped (or better yet and less fatty, bacon cubes)

2-3 tablespoons of milk


1 Peel the potatoes and onions, and grate them together using the largest holes of a grater or a food processor.

2 In a large non-stick pan, heat 5 tablespoons of oil and add the grated mixture, stirring constantly and spreading it evenly with a spatula. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

3 When the mixture begins to brown (after about 15 minutes), add the bacon. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes.

4 Beat the egg with milk in a bowl, then pour the mixture into the pan and stir quickly to coat the potatoes evenly.

5 Pat the mixture down in the pan and cook for a few more minutes. Then, place a plate smaller than the pan on top, flip the pan over and slide the galette back into the pan to brown the other side.


Serve hot as a side dish or main course with a salad.
