How to prepare the Orange Cake
Grate the zest of 2 oranges 1, then cut them in half 2 and squeeze the juice 3 being careful to filter it through a strainer to retain any fibrous residues, you will need 180 grams of juice for the preparation.
Now, work on the dough: sift the flour 00 4 and the chemical baking powder for cakes 5 into a bowl. Next, pour the sugar into the bowl of a standing mixer 6, add the butter at room temperature cut into cubes 7 and start the mixer with the whisk attachment, until you obtain a fluffy and creamy mixture. While the stand mixer is running, also add the eggs (at room temperature) one at a time 8, the grated orange zest 9, and add the sifted powders, one tablespoon at a time 10. Once the dough has absorbed all the flour, pour the orange juice slowly without turning off the machine 11. When the mixture is homogeneous, turn off the stand mixer and pour the obtained dough into a 24 cm diameter cake pan 12 previously buttered and lined with parchment paper.
At this point, bake the Orange Cake in a preheated static oven at 170°C for 35 minutes. Once cooked, take the cake out of the oven, let it cool slightly 14 and then transfer it onto a serving dish and sprinkle the surface with icing sugar as desired. The Orange Cake is now ready to be enjoyed 15!
Store the Orange Cake under a glass dome for 2-3 days. It is not recommended to freeze it.
