Vietnamese meat-filled buns (Banh bao) – a tasty snack!

For the filling:
2 medium sliced onions
150 g of minced pork shoulder
1 chopped garlic clove
2 shiitake mushrooms
1 Chinese sausage, sliced
2 hard-boiled eggs, diced (not too big or too small)
Soy sauce

For the dough:
340 g of sifted flour
80 g of sugar
150 g of water
15 g of oil
1 packet of yeast

Step 1
Make a well in the flour, add sugar, yeast, and oil, then knead the dough while adding water little by little.

Step 2
Let the dough rest covered with a damp cloth for 2 hours.

Step 3
Mix all the filling ingredients. Divide the mixture into 10 small balls.

Step 4
Roll out the rested dough and cut it into 10 squares.

Step 5
Place a ball of filling on each piece of dough. Close each pastry by sealing the four corners together.

Step 6
Place each small pastry on a sheet of paper and steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
